Whats up Boys !

So heres the issue, I have an 03 XLS, and about 5K left on the warranty before its done, and i owe about 9000 left on the loan...

I know going direct to the dealer is the best option... but just wanted to get a few thoughts from you guys...

Bought the X will 60k on the clock and am at about 79K now, my thought was...

since i pay a 200$ deductable, and ford takes the rest... could i get Ford to replace my Engine or Transmission or Suspension components ???? that are of course OEM spec.

i know this seems like an outrageous question to ask, but would it be feasable to atleast get some parts that wear over time replaced ? to prevent a failure in the future...

I.E. Bushings, Shocks, Springs, All kinds of Engine components...

WHAT PARTS WOULD YOU CONSIDER HAVING REPLACED AR 80,000 MILES ???

the only things not covered in my warranty are BRAKES, ELECTRICAL, TIRES, and some minor things that i can take care of myself if needed...

i will contact my dealership, but again just wanted to get some thoughts on what to replace if i can get the X in the shop...

thanks fella's !

Warranties only replace parts that are covered and fail. Read the fine print, I doubt that bushings and shocks are covered, but even if they are, the dealer is not going to replace them unless they are really shot. Same for the engine, no way they will replace parts just because you want new ones before they fail. They would have to see evidence that something was broken.

thanks for the advice...

this is why i asked before i went to the dealership lol

Be sure to look at the TSB's for your ex and see if yours is having any of the same problems described in them. Have them fixed under warrenty! I had a subscription at alldatadiy.com. They listed all the TSB's but I think you can find them for free on the net...

Right- warranty usually won't cover wear items, like tires, shocks, brakes, bushings, etc.- unless there wa a failure. Is it a Ford warranty?

But the replacing the engine or trans thing- yeah, that would be nice, but no, not going to happen. :)

But, if you have any noises, etc- bring them up, so at least they show up in your file. That way if there is something that crops up ot the trans cuts loose in 10k, you can say "look- I had mentioned it and you said it was fine."

Doesn't mean anything will happen, but it could help you get a little assistance from Ford.
