Antennas... or my lack of....

Hello. So my x is sitting out side with a big gaping hole in the top of the passenger fender, like something from the opening scene of saving private ryan. My factory power antenna ate it long ago... (luckily it broke in the up position.) I've left it for a long time, but since i recently installed a new HU, I figured it was time to take care of the situation. I'm planning on replacing the entire thing, since the cord for the factory one runs all the way back to the amp compartment anyway. Where can I get one that will fit, and not look ghetto? I purchased an $8 one from a local autoparts store, (supposedly compatible with ford) but it doesnt even come close to fitting properly. I need to get a new one of those black little plastic covers that go around the antenna as well, since I broke mine trying to make the new antenna fit. I'd like to get it asap...

I hope you left the cable in the vehicle when you removed the old antennae, or you will have a he11 of a time getting it through the firewall

I have seen a lot of people on here use the smaller rubber like ones. If you are looking for something to look OEM, you might try a junk yard. I know my 91 has a non power antenna, and I believe it stayed non power till 95. Good Luck.
