I have a leak somewhere in back of my altenator is this my water pump? Is this a common problem? ANd also how do i get that last spark plug out on the passenger side of a 91? Its block on mine.... Do i remove the whole box thing and then do it? or is there a special tool i can use?

Punk,

The leak may be loose lower intake gasket (I had), loose or damaged heater hose by t stat housing or a bad water pump gasket at the top left (i had too). Relatively easy fixes for all but retorquing the lower intake is time consuming.

Remove your right front wheel to get the last plug on pass side. Its the easiest way by far.

this is a reletively easy fix potentioaly?

Thank you for the information.

Also,

It seems to run fine (the tempeture gauge) When i fill up the radiator, If the water pump was out would it run hot all the time no matter how much fluid was there?

I would replace the water pump as preventive medicine and then see if you still have the leak. If you do then the next step is to retorque the lower intake bolts (about 3-5 hours) and see if that stops it.

Your water pump has a weep hole underneath and if it starts dripping coolant replace it asap. Or if it makes a howling sound the bearing could be going. Either way, its a $40 fix with parts and you have to rent the fan tool from a store.
