Ok, I know that the subject is rather large, but I figured it would be better than creating three threads....
I have been reading this forum for a while now, but have never found a need to post a question...in general most of my questions have always been answered...except that durn Check Engine Light.....I've tried everything that has been posted....checked the fuel regulator, replaced O2 sensors, purchased a code reader, etc....but NOTHING! :-( But, this is not my main questions...here they are...
1. My Xploder had an unfortunate accident a few months back, while traveling through Dallas a tire from a Ford Ranger crossed over the freeway and took out the entire driverside of the car (It was the rubber AND the rim!) Needless to say it had to go to the shop. It was towed to the shop by a tow truck, worked on, and about 3 weeks later I had my truck back, good as new.....well, almost. The ABS light constantly stays on. (Antilock Brake Light). I have traced all wires under the truck and I have found wires that are in fairly good condition. There are no cuts or sharp bends/rub marks on the wires. The tone rings are in place and look ok also. I was wondering if it could be the control module? (They also replaced the windshield....a lug nut came through it). If it is the control module, where is it located? If it isn't...any other places to look?
2. Since this accident my wiper delay has gone bye-bye! If I turn on the wipers, and put it on delay, it runs at slow (normal) speed.....and of course fast works fine. Now, this sounds like a delay module to me....but here again, I am a little confused at to it's location. I've looked, but I am unable to locate it. Anyone know where this hot little mama is?! HELP!
3. Last, but not least, I have the opportunity this weekend to get cruise control off an old, trashed explorer...but I only have it available this weekend (which is where I'm gonna get all the parts to work on this other stuff)...I was wondering where the main control module is for the cruse control. The XL model of the xploder did not come with such niceties and my wife has been bugging me for it for a LONG time! I know about the vacuumed bubble I need to get, the steering wheel (yes, I have a harmonic balance puller) and the wiring for it....I just need to locate the control module.
Well, I would also love to ask about power windows, but that is probably too much to ask....so I'll leave this post at this length...for now!
