I remember someone posting on the site if you complain to higher up management they pay for the replacement

No cel light! Guess the vehicle doesn't care if it takes a little longer to get to a closed loop.

Just so that it's clear, 16 psi will not, and should not, cause a CEL or the engine stuck in open loop.

At 16 psi, the boiling point is still well above the thermostat, so your engine stays at the same temperature. Why Ford went with a 20psi cap is beyond explanation.

I've been running for two weeks with an OPEN CAP (that's right, 0 psi) without a single problem. Wouldn't try that in the summer though!

My radiator was replaced in Dec of 09 at 28K. I am now at 66K and haven't had any problems since.

Mine was replaced about 6 months ago and I have another coolant leak from somewhere but its not the rad. This coolant thing is driving me crazy. It only leaks in the morning and only the first time you drive the car, after that it will not leak.

The bad news......I had a '96, an '03, and now an '06. All 3 Explorer radiators leaked! The good news.......luckily, I haven't had to replace one "yet." The leaks have been manageable.

Add '07 V8 to the list, my '07 (with 52K miles) was just diagnosed with radiator leak.

I changed my '06 Explorer's radiator yesterday with a Delphi make. I'm in Kuwait.

Looks like you can add me to the list of leaking radiators..
2006 Mountaineer 4.0L
So, im no amateur when working on cars, but any write ups on changing the radiator.

How do you add tranny fluid since the lines have to come off? So dumb there's no dip stick..

and whats the best brand to get? Do the 07+ work in the 06's?
