Do it, the TC needs the best fluid available. I changed my V6 4WD TC two months ago, with Amsoil ATF. Good luck,

The 4x4 shop that did my regear, said that switching to synthetic oil in a gearbox in an older vehicle was a bad idea. They told me that they see a lot of failures following a change to synthetic gear (or ATF) oil.
