Heres what i want to do... the system s fine so far, all i want to do s add a new HU, however thanks to ford's ingenuity i dont know how. i have a 94EB with prem sound. is there some way to add a HU by itself? some kind of wiring adapter or something?

ok i can replace the HU, thats no biggie i have done hundreds of HU's when i worked at an audio shop, however i have never done one on my truck and all i want is a new hu for now. perhaps later i wll drop the factory amps and replace them with a new one. will there be a problem with a new amplified HU running into the factory system (double amped?) i dont want to bypass the factory system amps, because the sub gets it's signal from the HI amp...i have some 10's running on factory sub amp, works fine. however it would be nice to be able to wire in a new HU. is there a wire kit for this? has anyone done this? i can do a full system, but dont have the $$ for it and/or time.

yeah mostly cause i cant find a wiring harness that works for my truck, crutchfield has some weird crap that they say works but wrong connectors...i looked at best buy, walmart, Kmart, target, and all over on the net, nothing to connect a aftermarket HU directly to the factory harness. yes i have done ALOT of HU installs, and 99.9% of them were done with wiring kits not difficult to match wores up now is it? my problem is i cant find the kit i need...

What you need is an amp bypass harness. You can then use the built-in amp on your new HU.

you can get a harness most anywhere. btw, how do those mtx 10's sound being powered by what...an 85 watt stock amp?

A Stock amp bypass harness is what you are looking for, but if you are really looking for premium sound re-wire the speakers with monster mobile audio cable. Otherwise lose the 8lb? boat anchor stock amp and slap in the bypass harness.

they sound fine as long as i dont crank the Bass, i keep it at half, on the stock radio. i can turn it all the way up no problem. i have an amp bypass, dont want to have to wire in a new amp to run my subs now cause they sound fine to me. all i want to do is the HU.
EDIT: lol if you dont believe they sound decent pm me with your phone # and i will call and let you hear it.
