I've got a rip in my leather seat too. Mine isn't on a seam though... Im paying someone to come and do it. A friend of mine had a rip on his seat too and it looks like new now after this guy was done with it... I dont think hes gonna go all the way out to you though. But im sure there is something similar in your area.
Its not his fault it tore, seats old the seams split due to wear and tear. I usually just remove teh seat and send it to an upholstry place. If they cant unstitch and and draw the leather together I would try a seat from a wrecker or lower cover from the Ford dealer, if still nothing or too expensive it would be hard to match those seat bottoms in aftermarket leather, maybe have the inside portion of both seats sewed up in vinyl or suede, maybe 3-400$...Unless you want a weird filler stripe sewed into both seats where that seam goes haha
Its one of those traveling deals. I don't even know if the guy has any kind of home-base. He's the Leather Doctor. He fixed the grey leather in my friend's mustang bullitt. He's on vacation right now but when he gets back i'll get the number if you want it.
look in the yellowpages usually places that do upholstry or leather repair can do it alot cheaper that replacing the whole seat, what your pics show looks like a simple restitch job as opposed to a gash
My brother has a 1965 Ford Truck, he bought it as a wreck. A local uphostery shop put custom made diamond tuck leather covers, put in new foam, and fixed the door panels and roof to match. It was around $500 but that was 15 years ago.
My point is, take it to an upholsterer, the guy we took the truck to was a self emplyed person working out of his basement. He took pride in his work.
I have never done it but I watched them do it on the tv show "trucks". They took they old seat skins off of an explorer and put new ones on. Looked pretty damn easy. If you can get new skins on ebay for $100 or even cheaper at a bone yard, I would say thats the way to go.
You will have to take the seats out to do this but thats cake too.
Just my opinion.
Good luck.
