I was flipping through an old Motor Trend and saw a Super Duty feature, a sport truck and a big 4x4. The 4wd had these little lights mounted to the roof right above the windshield, they were lights about the size of the ones Alec Rosenbaum has on his Sport, but they didnt say what kind, didnt even mention the lights. They were mounted like the cab lights you see on some trucks. 2 on the outsides and 3 bunched together in the middle. I thought it looked pretty neat. Any lights available out there to do this setup?

Are they clearence lights? Were they amber in color? Those are available as aftermarket pieces. Try JC Whittney, I am sure they have it. In my opinion, I don't think it is worth it. My dad has them on his truck.

No, I dont think they're regular cab lights or running lights, I'm sure they were put on there as an aftermarket item, because they're little round lights but they stick up front the roof about 1.5-2 inches. I saw the picture last night, I might scan it sometime.

are they like this???? If so listen to brian....they are clearance lights. Lund makes a visor that has these on them, but sells for a few hundred.

No, they're lights that light up stuff, they're not the orange ones. They look sort of like the PIAA Projectors, and they're aranged almost in the same way those are on the semi. I'll scan the picture later on today.

I meant later on 3 months from now :D Here it is:

Look at the red truck with blackouts and then at the roof right above the windshield.

personally that truck is cool....those roof lights are fugly though....IMHO

Hmmm, I'd think high-powered lights up there that close to the windshield would shine down through the glass, blinding you. That wouldn't be much fun, would it?

To install most lights like that would require drilling ~1/2 inch holes in your roof for every light. Arent most lights mounted with a 10mm stud? Anyway, I'd personally think about a light bar if I were going to mount lights up there. Besides, wouldn't some larger lights look better up there? The size and shape of those projectors don't look too good. IMO, either smaller running lights or larger offroading lights would look much better, the offroading lights not in the 5-running-light setup of course.

alec, thats what i wanted to say but i didnt feel like typing that much:)

IMHO, I would pass on the whole light thing, it looks dumb.

Well I didnt say that I wanted to do that, I was just wondering if anybody else has seen a similar setup and what kinds of lights might be used, because I havent ever seen a setup like that before. Personally I wouldnt want to drill holes in the roof.
