I finally went ahead and followed thru with the firestone recall on my 01 explorer XLT.. i didnt like any of the options on the "ford recommedned list" so i went somewhere else to get the tires. i was lookin at the BFG mud terrains.. but i came across these Wild Country Radial RVT's they fit right into the amount ford was gonna give per tire (130 dollars) the tread seems pretty agressive and the handling is good, steering is more precise than before, and they are very quiet as well. so far im pretty happy with them.. i cant seem to find them online or find much else about them. All i know is everybody around here (bend, oregon) has some version if these wild countries.. they are super popular with the jeeps, suv's and pickups around here.

here is a pic

btw they are 265/75/16's

I've heard very little about them, but what I've heard has been good. Let us know how you like 'em.

I had a set of those on my 93 sport when I bought it. I liked them alot.

I knew a guy that had the Wild Country AT's and for a AT tire, they went through some serious mud. I think you'll like them.

Well it looks like i made a good choice then. we will see how they handle when the first snow come around.
thanks again for all the info guys.

I know about 10 guys where I'm from that won't get anything but a wild country tire. I think they look sweet as hell on just about any truck/suv and they have agressive tread patterns on all of their tires. You made a real good choice.

We Mississippi boys use Wild Country's in the summer and Buckshot Maxxis Mudders in the winter. That is about all you see here. I dont know anyone with BFGs.Maxxis Mudders are some of the best mud tires you can buy for a daily driver. Some people use Mud King's which are another good mud tire.

puttin some wild country mt's on my 4 door xplorer on tuesday, took um off the guys jeep and put his jeep on jack stands while i drove around the x with them on...i like um alot. the mt's are very loud at 40 but i think that's what makes it cool and diff. good luck
