My Ford is a new offering from Ford, check out these specs. You can access specific information about your vehicle, such as what packages you bought, warranty and service contract options, vehicle care tips and other prodcut information. Apparently all you have to do is go to www.fordvehicles.com and enter your VIN number and make a password and you can read all about your Ford vehicles. I found all this out in the Marketplace section of the Navy newspaper The Flagship . Don't know if it is all the good, I am gonna check it out right now..........

You can only use that web site if your vehicle is 10 years old or less and they go by the year 2003. My 92 is to old. I forgot that I called Ford before to compalin about the local dealer when I had my TBIRD. I went to them to find a quick answer on getting door panels off and rear speaker covers off and they told me the entire interior has to come apart and they would put 4 speakers in for $400. I knew they were full of crap so I called and got 2 coupons for there local tire shop for discounts. I figured it out at home in like 15 minutes, I was just on the road and wanted an answer.

Well, I checked it out last night. Seems more like a pain in the ass and propaganda for Ford than anything else. there are lists of service periods, such as when you should change your oil, reaplace brakes, hoses, and radiator flushes. That seems reasonable. But to me it looks like Ford is trying to make people happy who know nothing about their cars; basically so Ford can charge you $400 to put your speakers in like kandtholman said. It does have an online store and more information about your vehicle that could be helpful.

I plan on checking it out. It is probably a way for Ford to find out your name and addres so they can do studies and send you crap too!

Yeah probably. I had to call them and update my ownership info. They asked for everything: address, phone number, e-mail, mother's maiden name, what color your house is, and even your blood type!!!;) . But still...

Did they need a DNA sample?

i actually checked out their privacy page b/f signing up. it says they won't give your info to outsiders. but talk to me in 6-8 weeks when i start recieving crap in the mail!

also i'd have to agree that the site seemed pretty useless!

I've been registered with them since it was called ownerconnection. The only thing I've ever received that I could trace to them was some legal papers regarding the TFI settlement for my BII. So I think they're pretty good about not sending junk. But I also don't find any useful information on their site. I know my vehicles are old, but it does seem to me that it's all about, "If you need something for your vehicle, bring it in and let us take care of it for you." For a fee, of course.

I registered when I got my '97. Found out about a recall on the throttle body and now I have a new one. :)

It would be just my luck that I would have to jump through these hoops:

Our records show that this vehicle is owned by a business. My Ford can only provide service to individual vehicle owners. If you are an individual owner you may need to update your vehicle information. Please contact Ford's Customer Relationship Center (1-866-693-6738) to verify or change your personal information.

I had to update the information on mine too. Only took a couple of minutes and the lady was very polite.

I got one for my 'bronc too. But it appears it has to have less than 100K miles. What Bronco II has less than 100K miles???
