Anyone been to Jarbidge, NV?

A buddy of mine has a hankering to go to Jarbidge NV, and was asking me if I'd drive. He's doing research on a book he's writing and is wanting to go out there. I've got a box-stock 2wd X with 3.73 LS and stock size tires and some off-road driving skill. He's got a Grand Marquis so it's pretty much out of the question.

Are the roads to Jarbidge bad enough where I need to reconsider taking the X, or airing down, some decent tires and picking my line carefully, enough for the trip?

I do know I will have to lift it back to stock height or higher but that's not that big of a deal.

Cool so it looks like I'll be ok with my X as-is other than some extra rope and a come-along. We'll be going in late June/July next year.

My buddy's been out there when he lived in Elko but he had a 4x4 Trooper in the '80s. That was also the last time he was out in that area.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I had found as well, was just wondering if anyone else had any experience in that part of the world.
