...The sad thing is they are out of stock on the 58" for my Ranger and they are not listed when you try to select an item..:(

...Thanks for that link...:biggthump

...I have actually been to their shop a couple months back so I am messaging them to see if I can pick them up since I have to pay state tax...The 58" is a hair short just by measuring but this would give me a chance to see how the different sizes fit...

..They also sell the mounting brackets too...:bounce:

now that i got em on i can say theyre well worth the coin. i used the gusset kit too... made life real easy... im gonna add another leg per side so i have 4 on each though... make me feel better that way since i had to offset the center around the one body mount

Thoughts on the boatside idea

After eyeballing it, i think its going to be a bit more difficult than alot of the other vehicles. However, i dont know the exact frame differences between Explorer and Ranger... i think the Ranger frame is relatively the same width as it goes back instead of spreading out on an Explorer correct?

The top of the blue tape is the cut, it gets rid of about 4.5" of rocker and 2" of bottom door-

Here you can see the body mount relative to everything, and its about to get cut. If i was doing a true boatside, i could have went a little higher on the outside part of the body since it would be angled down to the frame

One of the issues is that the frame drops down lower as it goes rearward... no big deal its just that you dont have a nice flat frame bottom that runs parallel with the body (again, i dont know if the Ranger does this or not) So, not only do you have to design for the frame getting wider, but also lower

...Great points and I didn't even think about the frame or mods needed to fit these for the Ranger yet but you got me to go take a look...:D

...When I put sliders on the X it was sure nice to have the body lift...With the Ranger I am thinking about just buying these and get some rocker coverage, hopefully less body damage, and a little assistance so the fuel tank skid plate isn't the only thing to skid on...Although they are not full on "Boatside's" I like to think of them as boatside jr's...

...As in the frame spreading as it heads to the rear, the X and the Ranger are similar...As for the frame heading downward as it goes further back, the Ranger frame actually heads upward drastically...On the standard cab it starts at about 3/4 of the cab...

...You can kind of see in this pic how the frame in the rear goes up just about 3/4 up the rear tire...

...I didn't see these posted in this thread yet but wanted to add DWD's Boatsides for future reference...
