Anyone ever add the Limited grill to their X?

On a regular, xlt, eddie bauer etc, has anyone ever painted and installed the limited grill? How does it look? I once paint my stocker on my first explorer and it came out quite well.

that thread is about a C-notch, but i can tell in his avatar he has a limited grill....small pic though

It should mount the same way as the regular grill. It just looks different. There's 2 side clips that hold it on.

I know how to remove it - just wanted to see some pics of the work done. Remember I said I painted the grill on my old explorer? I removed the grill and headlight bezels.

Here's an older pic of mine....the bumper alignment has since been fixed, But the Headlight Bezels (Headlight 'door') are still chrome, as I can't find a decent White one for the Drivers Side, I have the Pass. side here in the house......lol

It looks just like a regular Limited now....I even swapped in Ltd. Seats, and installed an Overhead Console.....only thing that I have that wasn't available on the Ltd's, is I have a 5 spd. Manual (soon to be a 5.0L & T-56, 6 Spd)

why not sand the chrome off and paint them?

If I can't find a suitable Ltd. one, in White, I'll do just that.....but that's small beans compared to the other work that STILL has to be done on this thing before I send it in for paint!....Including finalizing the Fiberglass work to the Speakerbox, and of course finishing up the body work to this thing.....custom 3rd brake lights.....ya' know...stuff like that!

I would do it, if I could FIND a 1st gen Limited. They are rare, only made in 93 and 94 so it's hard...

Do a search for a Grille, for a 1993 or 1994 Explorer, it will then ask you if it's for a Limited.....THEN it will ask you what color you would like....

Pretty simple to FIND one...the only problem from there is finding one from a wrecker that is ALSO willing to ship it.
