im in boca and im looking for some trails too!! ive only been on a few up by my friends house in pt st lucie but thats about it, i was also trying to suggest a car club, maybe. im gonna hit up "hot import nights" this weekend but other than that , the only other show i can think of was the ford swap meet at moroso.

i am definetly looking to start up an explorer club, or something like that. my roommate is in a car club, he gave me the idea to start it up. i don't know how far it will go, but if you want to start it up, i'm game. like i said, i don't know how far it will go. the only places that i have gone to, is in the acreage in some of those sand lots, thats about it. hope to hear from you soon.

thats cool. thanks. it should help me a bit. thanks for the help. how long ago did you start it?

No problem at all, the club has been around for about 2 months or so.
You should think about getting a mailing list from Topica.com
It keeps us in contact with each other.

topica.com, thats what? i'm sorry, i am kinda illiterate when it comes to computer stuff, not complete, but i think that you get the point.

Hi guys. amracer, this forum is designed to show a Registry of Explorer owners. Kind of like a phonebook. Not many people will see your question here. I am going to move it to the Serious Exploration forum, where we talk about trailruns. You should get more response there.

Welcome to our board!

ok, sorry for the inconvenience, just kept on replying back, but thanks.

Hey guys,
I am ober in Fort Myers - would love to hit the trails. Seems like every time I talk about it (like going to Ocala) my truck breaks :)

Anyhow - keep me posted. Would love to hit the trails, go camping, fishing - whatever!

WellsLaw - check into 31's... you should be able to fir them under your stock suspension...

that sucks. i would like to hit the trails with my truck over here, but i only have a 2wd. truck. i have taken it in sugar sand, and i had no problem with that, but i want to go further with it. i heard that there are some good trails up in ocala.

well, i would love to go out and hit the trails ... 31"sssss ... what about 32"s

anyhow, i need to collect some fees before I get the tires -- although pep boys is having a sale????

thats cool. i work at a tire store. i get good deals where i work.

amracer --

where in so.fla ddo you live (town / area / county) i am in south miami ...

WellsLaw,
You may have trouble getting 32's under a stocker. Also - do some research in the tire forum here. Be sure to get a good tire - don't skimp. The BF Goodrich and Goodyear's get good reviews. Many people like the swampers, Mickey Thompson's and so on. I have Dunlop Mud Rover and love them. Wouldn't want to take them on a rocky trail as they are only 2-ply sidewalls. They do work great in mud though :D

I have 3.73's with a limited slip and (hopefully) a locker in the front going in after the first of the year.

Let's get through the holidays and see if we can actually get a trip off the ground!

I thought I had read ... and now knew???? .... that with the shackles and twist lift I could fit 32" tires ... I had thought about 235/85/16 which are 31.7 X 9.5 X 16 ...

I had thought other with my set-up ran 265/75/16 which are the same height but 10.4 wide?????

any opinion?

Bobby,
Sorry about that - I didn't notice your tires were 16's and not 15's. The 235/75/r15's are a few inches smaller than the 31's. With twist and so on you may get the 32's, but you may rub when flexing a bit. I know my 31's rubbed under major articulation until I added the 3" body lift. Also keep in mind if you change the rims out, you may rub a bit too. Funny thing is is each explorer is different. I know some people that can't gvet 31's under their rigs and other thaqt had no problems. Anyhow - what are your thoughts on a late Jan/Feb S Florida run?
