I'm looking for a new HU and just checked out a eclipse cd3413 and liked it alot. It fits my price range and has the features I'm looking for. I thought I'd check here for feedback before I make the purchase...any comments?

Thanks

I have an eclipse in my explorer, I forget what model though. This is my third eclipse radio and I love them. They have always been reliable and I noticed improved sound quality when I upgraded from my old sony unit. I do not install mine because I you install it the there is only a one year warranty, but if a certified eclipse dealer installs it you get a three year warranty. I go to Soundwaves and they ussually hook me up with a $20 install fee. I would recommend an eclipse radio to anyone. They are very good radios.

as long as your not going for competition, than your all set, and their nice...

they have security that no other company can provide through ESN. so if your radio gets stolen. get a police report, bring it to an eclipse dealer, they will mail it to eclipse, and i believe your entitled to a replacement cd player. mostly though no thief will steal eclipse cause they no they can't bust the code on it.

lol are you kidding?

you think their are theifs who realize that it is encoded? and know that they can't break the code... the theifs i know of certainly wouldn't know that. they think ooh that car has rims i wonder if it has a system. ooh it has a system i'll break this window and take it all. then they think ok now i can get some more drugs. they don't think- hmm thats the eclipse 3e4324u3D model II a 6 hu with super keypad lock down i can't steal that its worthless without its super code. its nice that eclipse replaces stolen hu, but thats all their really doing.

no not crack heads that steal the ****, but people that steal radio **** for their own car, will realize it, unless they dont know eclipse. something like 29% less thefts one eclipse than other units, obviously not exactly correct, it was like a thing that car audio shops filled out. like a survey type thing

maybe thats also because people who can afford eclipse stuff probably park their car in their garage

yea some of their stuff is insanly expensive. but their lower end is decently price. keyword decently.

I would recommend Eclipse to anyone. And from personal experience, the theft warranty thing is nice. I paid $500 for a new deck, only to have it stolen 3 months later. Do you think I complained when I got a new one in the mail for free? Nope, I just installed it and said thank you Eclipse. I'm currently on my third Eclipse deck. I have the 8443.

Oh yeah, and Expo, my truck has never been garaged a day in it's life.

Eclipse

I benefitted from the one year replacement guarantee as well. Not that I enjoyed doing it, but hey, it was free! Also, after 2 years and 9 months, the CD wouldn't always be accepted into the deck. I went to an authorized dealer, they popped it out and shipped it to Eclipse for me. About three weeks later, I got a call and there was a fully functional HU waiting for me to be installed.
Expensive, but high quality stuff.

I just bought a 3434 (display on stock unit didn't work so the dealership paid the difference) and i love it, if your serious though, bump up and gewt the unit with 5v preouts and the memory stick.
