I'm thinking of installing a remote transmission filter. I'd appreciate any tips from anyone, especially which brand (looking at Perma-Cool Deluxe kit), where did you mount it, what's a good price, etc. I found the Perma Cool Deluxe for $79 at summit racing.com.

thanks

Yes, there are a few of us who have done the install/

Hank first posted about it at Dead Link Removed

I am very happy with the results of my install.

Good luck......

Mine went in well. I tapped the line where the transmission sends fluid to the radiator. I mounted it on the inside frame rail on the driver's side behind the front bumper as that was easiest for me. I bought the $30 kit and then bought an Autometer Sportcomp series Trans Temp gauge as it was cheaper and a better guage. Sure, it doesn't come with a mounting bracket for the guage, but the difference can be applied to a bracket and extra wiring. Or you can do what I did by using a guage pod on my A-pillar. I prefer to have this guage and the air pressure guage for my rear air springs in easy view while I am towing a big trailer. One of these days I might get time to finally take pictures to show all.

What is your tranny temp rinning now?

Thsnks.....

Yeh, what Jeff said

I have the same set up as Jeff, gauge and all. I paid about $30 for a B&M kit and another $40 for the gauge and pod. However, I mounted the filter behind the grill on the lower passenger side. The trans temp. runs between 165-180 after the cooler.:redexp:
