If you go to torque monster headers site it says purchasing temporarily disabled-anyone know what is up?I sent Bob a pm and called repeatedly for a couple weeks now,is he all done? Why no major company makes them is a puzzler to me anyway. His are works of art but if he is overwhelmed I understand.Hard to believe no one makes a blockhugger style that fits!Ford really dropped the ball on the 98s like mine.Put on free flowing heads that breathe like a hurricane but I guess they forgot they needed exhausts too.Right now I`d take a pair of the junk motorsports ones over the stock welded manifolds on it.Anyone know?:confused:

Also interested in anyone's knowledge of the TMH product and its availability.

I talked to Bob a couple of weeks ago and let him know I was interested in buying a set, He said he had two sets left for my application (1997 Mercury Mountaineer, build date 08/96) and for some reason I didn't jump on a set right then. He told me he was working with his manufacturer to get some together but I haven't heard from him since. This was probably a week and a half ago.

I agree 100 %!

Ex-dude you are 100% correct, but I am not one of those idjits, and it is tough calling and leaving repeated messages-I am not one who likes hounding anyone, specially a true craftsman like he is.When I ordered my headers for my 66 7 litre galaxie ragtop(now a 7.5,it has a 460 now)I had to wait almost 4 months for the guy at maddog headers.com.But from what I read Bob`s problem is the money,Mark at maddog never took my cash until he started making them, even then it was about 3 weeks before they came.I just wish he`d call me and put me in his queue that`s all.Why hooker or hedman or anyone else does`nt buy him out and make them on a line anyway is beyond me.Thanks for the reply.
IF ANYONE OUT THERE KNOWS HIM PLEASE HAVE HIM CALL ME BEFORE I GIVE UP.AND HAVE A SET CUSTOM MADE THAT WILL NEVER BE AS NICE AS HIS!

Because there is not enough demand for Hooker or Hedman (or any other header maker for that matter) to warrant making headers for an Explorer.

I saw that too,Ex-dude.

I saw that but the guy did`nt leave any contact info,I even searched the area lists to see if he had another, didn`t but someone else even posted their own to try to contact him.I wrote that guy and he was stumped too,why would someone post it without info? Then I read ahodges 5.0 swap last night in this forum(doing a killer swap) and he said he thought his tmhs would`nt
fit as they were for gt40ps,but he tried them and TA-DA they fit,and he`s from not far from Columbus, and putting 2+2 together I had to wonder if it was his list and he withdrew them.
I realize no one would have to make 5 lines in a factory to run building them,
but Hedman`s blockhuggers look close enough that maybe if they made the #5 tube bend a little differently and put an egr boss on #3 they might be able to sell The same ones they already do with a couple pieces changed
for more applications, maybe they just have`nt tried yet?Anything is possible with a little work.Look at all the mods people have done to these explorers
in barns and garages with little more than a hammer and a few crazy ideas.
It`s how Henry ford turned a tractor into his Quadracycle. It`s what the USA was founded on-crazy ideas!:us:;););)

From what I heard he makes them out of outsourced parts. Its probably not his full time gig so he probably does it to help people out since no major companies are willing to make a production line for us.

That's too bad. As time goes on, they get harder and harder to get. Given that the last 5.0 for Sploders and Mounties rolled off the in the '01 model year, and that horrible Cash for Clunkers program wiped out many, probably not a ton of incentive for Bob.

So glad I got mine when I got them.

Best of luck getting some. Supply seems to ebb and flow.
