That hose has vacumm. After a Natural Gas system install, I found it loose, the techs say they do not know where is it from.

It surely looks it is. Thanks for that. However, I cannot find that valve in my truck. What exactly is this valve for?

it goes where them hose clamps are,, the valve is gone,,

I know they have to use those hoses to connect them to the natural gas regulator. They should have the valve then... hope they answer.

So... what happens to the system if the valve is not present?

it lets hot coolant into the heater core all the time, no bypass for cold air settings,
whittle a wooden plug for it,, push it in there,

This is a better view of what I have now: The underlying hoses are the ones that go to the gas equipment:

So... in theory I would have hot air all the time without the valve?

Sorry, this is the first time I mess with the climate system...

yeah, pretty much have hot coolant in the heater core all the time,,

just plug it off to get rid of the vacuum leak it makes

I tested today the climate controls. The cold and hot temperature settings work well. Is there any other reason to prevent the hot water from filling that heater core? Maybe longer duration?

I may be going off topic, but this process of discovering the "shape" of a used car is making me investigate a lot. Today I went for a full fluids change. I found that the rear axle had only 1 liter of oil, and that the transmission fluid was done long time ago. I also found this spring hanging in the left rear tire brake line:

Obviously its doing nothing and should be holding something.... but what?

Yep I see the hole in the frame. Funny thing such a big spring for that task. Any word about the heater thing? I feel the valve should be there for a reason, however the AC system works fine.
