After owning the car for 22 years, and getting the radio display fixed once already, it is finally time to up grade the stereo for my daughter. Figured that I might as well hook up a back up camera with it too.

After taking a look at the rear on the 1998 4dr, I don't see a real good place to mount one. the handle above the license plate rules out an under lip mount. It looks like the view from a top of the license plate mount would be blocked by the handle. I don't think that a mount to the step bumper would last long.

Has anyone installed a backup camera? If so where did you mount it? what camera did you get? Pictures would be great.

Thanks in advance guys.

Sorry I went with a dash cam / backup camera

i did one before i installed dashcam. i mounted it under the liftgate handle. after a few days i was used to it... i just ran it next to the headliner tucked into the seam like plastic thing that goes thru the whole roofline. i then got it to the hatch thru the entrance for all the other wires. so pretty much i ran it next to the roof all the way down and with the other wires into hatch.0
