Thinking about doing my wifes tranny when it fails 100%(its on its way out)
Just wondering if anyone on the list has done it themselves?

I plan on getting a remaned one from Ford with the 3/36000 warranty.
The best price I've found is $1675 with core locally.

has anyone find them cheaper?
This is in So. Cal so Im saving on shipping. It would have to be alot cheaper to have me buy it online.

Just wondering if there are any headaches associated with this swap?
Its 2WD so no TC or anything to reove before hand except the rear driveshaft.

Thanks for any info

I've never actually done it but just read up in my haynes book and it seems straight forward enough. Just remember to unbolt the torque converter from the drive plate (mark the position first) before you drop it. It is a heavy part so use a jack with chains to steady it.

It's pretty easy to do since it's a 2wd. I change them all day at work using a lift and the thought of doing them on the ground on jack stands sucks. Air tools do help make the job easier.

It's not to bad, I've removed my transmission enough times that i can get it out in about 3 hours, and it took me about 4 to get it back in, and since you have a 2wd trans it should be even easier.
