I am wondering if anyone is using the Warn transformer winch mount on their 2nd gen Explorer. Is it worth the $$$$$ or would it be better to do something different??

Tim

I'm having it installed tomorrow on a 98 4x4. There will be some custom mods to make it work. I'll let you know how it goes.

Fit is perfect, though some mods were made. Looks great. I used the transformer for a Ranger. Aparently there are some minor frame rail differences. Winch goes on in two weeks.

Can you show us some pics?

Just got back from vacation. I'll take some pictures tomorrow but I have no idea how to post them. Since the winch is going on in stages, I'm shooting pictures at each stage anyhow. We will order the winch in the next week or so. Still a few decisions to make. It's my girlfriend's Explorer after all.

I've got the pictures but I still can't figure out how to post them. I thought maybe under the advanced reply section, but I guess not. Can anyone tell me how to post the pictures?

since your not elite, you are going to have to go to a different website, like photobucket.com or imageshack.com and upload them there after starting a free account, then link them over here. i am interested in seeing it as well.

Here are some of the photos. I hope this link works. It took forever to download, I've got a dial-up and don't really know how to do any of this computer stuff. This is just the center section of the transformer and the winch mount. The brush gaurds and the winch are on order. I'll take some more pictures when they are installed in a couple weeks.

sweet X joe!

No its not worth the money unless you are going to do some serious winching. There are other brush gaurds that look good and fit without the expensive custom work. Unless you have the time and can do some welding and fab work yourself. Then go for it.
