Anyone seen or done a top cut on 2 dr X?

Has anyone seen or done a partial top cut on a 2 dr Explorer? I just bought a 2dr with the hatch glass broken out and the tailgate has some damage. I am planning on taking the rear side windows and hatch out/off. And cutting the roof across the top at the front edge of the rear side glasses and above the taillghts. Making it look like a Isuzu Amigo style truck. What do you think about this?

I say go for it. If you can do the body work to cap everything off, it should be a pretty unique truck.

You are not the first It has been done, it looks pretty damn good too!
You will have alot of finishing work to do if you want it to look nice, and if you want some sort of a hatch or tailgate.

There is a Navajo in Vail that has this done, full cage, solid axle, 38"+ tires...etc etc.\

Yep. There is another guy named RangerG who bought a truck wrecked like that and did the same. Saw some pics of that navajo on pirate4x4. Pretty rad! I am aiming to do it in a year or two.

there is a guy on the yotatech.com site i belong to that did this to a 4runner.. his nick is 4hummer let me get a link.... it looks good.. he used diamond plate to edge off the edges... looks nice...
