Hey guys,

There is someone at my work selling a set of 5 rockstar rims (KMC XD 775 is the model number). Would I be able to make these fit a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT with adapters?

Here are the specs:
17x6
5.5 bolt pattern
Offset- 10
Centerbore- 78.1
Backspacing 4.89

She got them for a Jeep Wrangler and is selling the set of 5 (never opened) for $500 obo... but she posted them a long time ago so I think she would probably be willing to drop the price a decent amount. I know the bolt pattern is wrong for my X... but with the other specs, would an adapter be able to help them fit? Thanks for your help?

Adapters are your only option. Personally I do not like the idea of having 40 lug nuts to check as opposed to 20.

yup, your only option is adapters, just be prepared to make everything more difficult, so buy some thin walled sockets, and be prepared for the aluminum to corrode.

hmmm... maybe it's not worth it... even if I could get them cheap ha

Don't get me wrong, I am sure they will look good and hold up, but if you have ever worked on a vehicle with adapters, or wheel spacers, it always makes any job harder. Not only do you have to take of twice as many lug nuts, but the aluminum always corrodes to not only the wheel, but also the rotor and hub, so it's just annoying. But if its a good deal maybe just snatch them up and resell them for profit and get something you like instead.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too... I am thinking I could probably talk them down to $400 for a set of 5 rims... which I think is a pretty good deal for those, considering the boxes they are in havent even been opened

I got wheel adaptors for the rear when I did a SAS to match the new front bolt pattern. I had them made through here;

They are hub and wheel centric and they can make them in any thickness you wish. Mine are slightly less than one inch thick. Being hub and wheel centric, the load is taken on the axle instead of the lugs. If you call and ask for Lenny, you might get a break on shipping. Lifetime warranty.
