Apten Chip, switch placement

i am looking for some ideas on where to mount my apten chip switch that runs through the glove box. looks pretty boring just sittin in the glove box.

could people who have the switch, tell what they did or give ideas??

Run the switch thru the grommet in the fire wall behind the pedals, then mount the switch on the area to the right of the steering wheel under the gauges.

I like it there, but the problem is, friends that don't know what it is play with it untill I tell them not to, and it is very succeptable to idiodic carwash places breaking it off like they do your control trac switch :fire:....

Different performance programs. The left on mine is an 89 octane program, the middle is a 93 octane program, and the right is 'off'.

Thats pretty damn cool. Do you notice a difference between the 89 and 93 programs? Is the shifting the same for the 2?

I think the shifting is the same, but the difference is the spark tables and probably fuel curves. He can change anything between the two programs, like you could get a towing 93 or 89 program and a performance 93 program.

I think the shifts alone are worth it, when I turn it off, the car feels so sloppy.

But do you notice a difference in power between the 89 and 93? I know what it changes but I'm curious to know if there is really a difference you can feel.

Yes, there is a little difference. The 93 pulls a little faster and more confident, although the 89 program still feels very strong.

yea i know the car does feel very sloppy when you turn it back to the stock program. i installed the chip at first and didnt bother with hooking up the switch, and i didnt really notice that much improvment, besides the **** points, but after i hooked the switch up and turned it back to stock. i then could totally tell how much the chip really did help.

newibley - that switch mounting looks great! I want to copy yours. Did you have any difficulties? How did you mount the switch and light so they don't fall out?

i actually ran my switch behind the eec, to where the glove box is, down the center console, and placed next tot he coin holders in the armrest. ill get a pic later.

I mounted the switch under and to the right of the steering wheel. I put it there to keep it handy but yet not where someone could play with it easily. My friends can't mess with it there, unless they want to get fresh with my leg or something..

yea it definitely did, it took me awhile to get it to stay excactly where i wanted it.

Yeah, one thing that helps is to carve the pastic down some with a dremel, that is what I ended up doing.
Anyways, glad you got it mounted and like it.
