I recently bought the apten chip and had a dual code burned for my 99 4.0 OHV X. It's well worth the money from a shifting standpoint alone. I had the rev limiter raised and top speed taken off. The shifting is smoother but there's still a nice pickup between gears. I had one program burned for 92 octane with the best performance gain. The second program was for 87 octane and best gas mileage. The only thing I would change is have the second one for 92 and best gas mileage. Who really wants to keep changing gas, and you might as well use 92 all the time if you're gonna do it anyways. Probably will have a better result on fuel economy too. Also the performance gain is well accepted
I want to get it with one program for me and on for the wife. How do you go about switching modes? Is it worth it to say one program for performance and one normal?
