Installed my chip lastnight and it went real easy. Started first try. Bolted everything secure and it started again. Couldn't take for a ride so I waited to test drive this morning on the way to work. Was great, ran good. Got to work fine. Then I was leaving for lunch and was dead in the water, nothing. Pulled computer out and its on my desk now. Cleaning contacts and the top row is all copper but the bottom is a *****. Tried to remove board from botton plate ( 4 srews) to get the lower row and it appears to be glued on the plate. Does this sound like par for the course?

i just stuck the scouring pad on there and used a pen to rub it back and forth. Hopefully cleaning that fixes your problem.

I had my girlfriend clean the bottom(smaller hands) Then carefully I placed a key between the pad and the bottom row and started sanding seemed to have worked just fine... The key thing was just an idea but you have to be real carefull. Then clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. that should do it.

ok so I'm not losing it. I'll just keep on sanding. I just have alcohol for cleaning but thats probably all contact cleaner is anyway. Just worries me that it started fine and drove 30 miles and now nothing:(

just take off the screws on the side of the casing for the computer and you wont need small hands to clean it. the metal casing just comes apart with the removal of a few screws.

yep definitely, sounds like a connection issue. Let me know if you need any help.

do like brian said take the screws off the side of the computer. There should be one on each side (2 total). They are small star bits I believe. This should allow you to really get in there and clean up the connection port. Also im sure you did but did you disconnect the neg. battery cable while putting the chip in?

After much cleaning at my desk and a penlite to really see the bottom, we have a winner. I'm off and runnin! I am pleased with the chip. Thanks Brian and thanks to all who posted. :)

P.S. Yeah the cleaning was easier when opened. It has four bendable tabs to open it up. Was gonna try to remove the board from bottom plate for easier access but once I removed the screws it appeared to be glued as well but it wasn't necessary afterall.
