I got a set for the rears from rock auto. They are the direct replacement, they are the air shocks. They are alright i guess. I would say they are on the softer side. But the ride is good.
Yes, and the rears were on eBay for $25 each last year, Ford OEM shocks. The front shocks you have no choice in, they are expensive no matter what. I bought my rears from Ford for $90 each two years ago. Good luck,
The Monroe's replacements have the air bladders but non of the electronics. They are basically a cheap shock with an air bladder and the right air fittings for OEM ARC system. The Ford OEM shocks had both air ride as well as an electronic shock valving adjustment (similar to a Rancho 9000). You're not going to get the same ride unless you cough up the cash. I actually got rid of my ARC shocks and just replaced them with quality regular shocks. It rides better, just doesn't have the load leveling or "off-road" setting, which was cool, but I wasn't ready to fork over $500 for new shocks from Ford.
