Is the 95+ explorer and 98+ ranger front end EXACTLY the same????

Same shock mount locations?? same a-arm??

I have an idea but dont know if it will work. I was thinking about installing a 98+ ranger front lowering kit with new a-arms on my AWD explorer and using coil overs and removing the torsion bars.... that way the a-arm should fix my caster/camber problem and I can be 3-4" low instead of 1 1/2"s

I crawled up underneith one, and I think they are the same. Best way to find out is call the ford parts dealer and cross reference the part numbers

just answer my own question.... I did go to ford and run part numbers.....

the 95+ explorer and 98+ 4x4 ranger A-arms are the same....

the 98+ 2x4 rangers a-arms are different cause they used a coil spring instead of the 4x4 torsion bars.... why would ford do this... i have no clue... but the 2x4 Edge has the torsion bars- whatever.... im going to make my idea work anyways-

thanks

Enlighten us, what's your idea? I have a feeling it has something to do with bags maybe?

no bags- im not up to date on bags really... i was going coil-over

Sounds like a neat project. Good luck.
