Dont exactly know where to post this but here goes. I remember seeing the Ford Everest in Manila a few years back and always wondered if they were the left over X's that were revamped and marketed in South East Asia. Anyways, could someone here tell me if they are in fact the same? I see that the body is (maybe) from a 1st and/or 2nd Gen Explorer with an updated Ranger lights and grill. A few have those nice body cladding and fender extensions. Any idea if the body parts could be ordered thru the North American dealerships? Thanks in advance guys!

Wow- not the same body, but definitely the same geneology! I like it! But I have no idea... :)

If you look at the hood, front fenders, door skins and the rear quarter panels, it looks as if they were taken from a Ranger. The tail lights are set higher a la Volvo xc70/90. Personally, I like how they look! Love how the lines flow better that the 1st Gen (IMO) and it looks very "Executive" or "Luxurious" even. Either case, I want one with a diesel engine!

i think if ford brought this to america they would sell with out a problem. you can see the ranger influnce there. looks like the head lights are from the 98-2000 ranger style.

with the diesel engines it has lots of power 146hp is quite a bit seeing some of the 1st gens 7.3 diesel made just over 200 hp

wow, that one is 6 lug

ya id like to know the torque numbers as well as im sure they are good seeing what the hp numbers are

I like the body contours...kinda like a Landrover Discovery (which is owned by Ford). Has anyone done more research on these?

i know id like to know more about them. 3 row seats, diesel engine,4x4. be nice for us people who cant afford a excursion or dont want to have a mini van.

The "hearsay" was that these Southeast Asian Fords were basically made from NOS parts that were left over from previous models. Cant confirm if thats true or not though. I'd like to know, why is a 6 lug better? Can someone clarify?
