2007 explorer xlt 4x4
Hey everyone, im new to explorers so im not sure which tires would be best for my needs. its getting close to replace my original tires and was wondering if these were any good. Goodyear Fortera HL. the size would be 245/65/17 and i found them on tirerack.com. my explorer is a daily driver but i will be using it on the beach and easy trails. it's an 07 xlt v6 4x4, and i dont want to beat it up.

any help would be appreciated or any thoughts on any other tires would be helpful.

My 2007 came with these tires as factory installed but mine are P235/70/16 's. Have about 32600 miles on them and so far so good. Not real good in mud but ride quiet on the highway. rotated and maybe 7500 to 10,000 more left in them. I would rate them good highway tires but they are very expensive around here. I can buy Michellins for a lot less and hopefully more miles out of them. Just mu $.02.

TireBuyer has them for $114.81 each, shipped, for load rating 105S.

I was looking at those for a co-worker, but the more I dug for reviews, the more I was telling my co-worker to look elsewhere. I read numerous reviews online stating that they wear fast, wear funny, scary in rain, junk after a certain amount of wear...

Read the ratings on Tirerack before you buy...

thanks guys, i was reading some reviews on them but everyone had them on different vehicles so i figured id ask around here. but the more i keep looking i keep finding different ones. now im kind of going to the kumho road venture at kl78's, i dont really need off road tires but want something that has some meat on them. plus they are a couple dollars cheaper.

those are nice and i saw them but the sizes are different. the closest match would be 245/70/r17. think thered be any problems with rubbing or anything? my explorer isnt lifted or anything just stock
