Hi guys, just a quick question on remote trans filters... does the size of the filter matter when installing a remote trans filter? Reason I ask is cuz there is a store called Princess Auto here in canada... I found a "remote fuel filter" kit in the surplus department $14.99 comes with hoses and all the fittings. It looks just like all the other remote filter kits however the filter is smaller in diameter. Does this matter? Most of the kits I see use larger filter. Does a smaller filter mean less flow?

Trans fluid is thicker than gas, so I would say don't do it, as the filter media in a fuel filter may rupture due to the higher viscosity of the trans fluid and be passed through the tranny, possibly neccessitating a premature rebuild!

I realize that trans fluid is not the same as gas, but the filter can be changed... What I'm asking is if the diameter if the filter and the diameter if the hole on top of the filter matters. Most trans filters use larger diameter filters.

do yourself a favor and buy the remote trans filter, if you must have it.

Ya thanks.. I was guna, but since the cheapest I can find here in toronto is like 75 bucks, I thought the 14.99 filter was a deal... if it worked.

I'd say don't substitute that filter.... good try though.....

thank you for all the input guys
