I believe they look just like your headlamps from a distance. Here's a link:

we use 9007 bulbs....(Canada)

I just replaced the bulbs on my ex, and they are 9007. I believe the only dif between US and CDN lights is the daytime running lights we have here.
hope this helps....

I´m confused:confused: . I called back to my local dealer and checked the partnumbers again, he had a
set of F57D13005AJ/F57D13006AJ at home. Those where euro aproved and marked EXPORT (made in USA).
He also had F57D13008AH/F57D13035AH at the
partlist in the computer, ment for euro X too. But there was less details included with it and cheaper.
Maybe there is no difference US/Euro headlights, or what? Do you also have asymetric low beam, pointing
more to the right?

The U.S. headlamps have plastic lenses and take a 9007 bulb. The beam pattern is theoretically skewed to the right, as we're a right-hand-rule-or-road country, but the U.S. headlamps (all of them) are notoriously poorly designed.

The reason for the interest in Euro spec headlamps is that people have heard that where they're available, they truly improve the lighting. Also, the H-4 bulbs are better. If nothing else, the size of the contact pins in the H-4 bulb is twice the size of the pins in the 9007 bulbs.

So if I understand this right, we probobly have the same
headlight "housing" but not the socket who hold a H4.
Is that so? If it is, it won´t be hard or expensive to improve your lights.

i don't know why, but i would absolutely LOVE to have one of those euro rear bumpers!! any idea where one of those could be found?

They put similar bumpers on the mounties for a while. They just had reflectors instead of lights in them.

Well there are no Sport Explorer's in Europe! So, No H4 housing for me. Oh well I found HID Bi-Xeon Hi/Low beam 9007's. That will be my next project.

drmoore, try ebay, I see rear bumpers for explorers all the time with the lights IN the bumper

Hey Matt, where did you find the bi-xenon 9007's?? I think I might be interested.

My contact in Germany has just been in touch and thinks that the German headlight units have a slightly different mounting than the US ones. Therefore he request some pictures of the method of mounting for the US lights. Anyone got some or can get some? All the best.

I was looking for the mounting method of the headlights themselves not just the lamps. The Germany LHD H4 lamps may have a different mounting therefore requiring back plates as well as the units. But a pic may sort it out.:D

Edited : Sorry Blackmagic misunderstood:)

Anybody know if the Mountaineer rear bumper reflectors are just flat reflectors or are there holes or cutouts behind them that can accept a light.
