(partly from MAF post) Okay, well this morning I started up in about 50°F weather, and got the usual flicking oil guage... (Typical) but bad news this morning. It was idling at 1500 rpms for a sec... which I noticed but didn't give any thought to. Then (granted, no warm up time... like all this happens in 5 seconds) I shifted to reverse, which made the engine work a little, and WHOMP I fall to <500 rpms and get the classic 'HELP-IM-GONNA-STALL' shaking from the engine. Picked itself up in a second or two, but still, it made me think. I cleaned the MAF, which I will see if it helped tomorrow on the cold engine. Any other ideas? My (great) dealer actually brought up 00M12 to me and asked if I wanted it done, which of course I did. I dunno what else it could be... I'm thinking about cleaning the IAC... I think I know where/how to get at it. If I do clean it I'll do another writeup... but any other suggestions.

Also, I would like to put in a new Oil Pressure Sender, so if anyone who knows what or how to would like to guide me through it, I'd be much appreciative. Any help is great...

Sounds like the IAC failing to me. Normally cleaning it won't work, but it won't hurt either.

Would you guess that Discount Auto Parts sells one? I think I'll go check tomorrow... /me hopes it isn't more than $100.

Thanks, god you are prompt at answering! :D

It will either be around 60 or 100, but no more :)

Take off the dust cover that says SOHC and look right by the throttle body. The IAC valve is a silver cylinder-shaped object that is attached by two screws and a wire clip. Disconnect the clip and take off the two screws and voila, :D Clean it to your hearts content with carb. cleaner.

As a note, ALWAYS allow the engine RPMs to drop below 1K before going because it can seriously cause damager to the engine. My X sometimes shudders for a quick second when I first put it into drive, but once I step on the gas, it goes away. It's not big a deal since it has always done it so I just tack it up to the 5R's primitive A4LD roots ;)
