Okay, I have a 1995 Explorer sport, that just passed 200k miles. I do pizza delivery, and this problem has been getting worst the past few weeks and is starting to become very irritating.
What my problem is is that only on start up, it will run really rough and idle at only 500 rpm or so. If I push down the gas it will backfire out the exhaust and pop. But once I can get the rpms up if it doesn't backfire when I press the gas it will run completely fine. The car runs great besides this problem. I don't have a check engine light on or anything, but I know it is an obd1 system so the possibility of codes is still not impossible. Just wondering if this is a common problem and where are some places to look? I am mechanically inclined but just want to see if this is a common problem. Any help would be great, thanks.
