Seems my 2001 explorer wants to fight me with A/C
. Earlier this summer it wasn't working at all... I didn't have time to troubleshoot beyond trying to recharge (which I did) so took it to a mechanic... they replaced the expansion valve and recharged it... seemed ot be working fine, but in the last few weeks have noticed a strange phenomenon...
As I push the gas pedal down, especially when climbing a hill ors omething, the pwoer on the A/C will go down and down and eventually go down to nothing where no air is coming out of the vents. As soon as I let off the gas, it will come back to full force, but this gets to be pretty annoying. When its blowing the air coming out is plenty cool.
I've also noticed it seems to be "condensating" if that's a word much more than I'm used to... if I've been driving it a while, running hte A/C and stop for a while, I get a pretty good-sized puddle pretty quickly forming. Have checked pressures again and all seems normal.
Any ideas?
