.....and....someone said somthing about scheaduling ahead of time a block of rooms might save money. last time i stayed in the ramada in layfayette....(spelling)....so did andre. pretty nice place....any thoughts on that too?

Any weekend in October will work for me. I will plan on going. I thought that you guys were talking about going the 7th and 8th of September, my bad.

I can't wait to get a real job, some money, some mods, and some vacation time. I'm gonna make up for all of the lost wheelin' time that a little thing like school has cost me.

I don't know if you need help, but I will look into costs for 'room blocks' unless you want to do it. I think this will work out better in the long run. By then I will have convinced myself to buy a CB, I won't have to borrow your's.

I already have directions and know about our meeting place. Maybe Scott can email you and explain the meeting spot to you. Put that up on your site so once people get into town they will have an easier time. Link it to this thread, then we're set.

Heck, I can make an Attica site if you want just for this trip with all the info. Something basic, what do you think?

7/8 sounds good for me. Count me in. Looks like there's four of us in already. Tom, lodging-we will try to book a few rooms in some motel in Lafayette which is the closest town to Attica with motels and food-there's plenty of it in Lafayette. We'll share rooms so it'll be cheaper. It should be fun sleeping together like this unless you are gonna bring your significant other along. then you're on your own. If Kampy's bringing Anne with I might have my wife in tow although I have no idea what I would do with my kids. Hmmmmm, I'll call my mom I think. anyways.... Breakfast is usually included in your motel bill if you want to wait till 9:00AM. I think that by this time we should meet someplace and get over to the park. So you can see that it should be no problem finding lodging and food. MOTELS!!!! I just remembered!! Last time in Lafayette I riped pages out of the Yellow Pages with all the motels on them so we can shop around. Yeah!
7/8 is good. Tom, guys let me know if you need help finding a room. Are we gonna do a two day run?? and see if Riff will try the MI3 trail?? What are we doing there anyway? Orange? Green?

Attica, rims, motels, etc, etc....

To make the long story short;
I got a list of motels in Lafayette. Ramada was nice Riff but also costly. We'll shop. We need to know who wants to stay in a motel, I guess this one's gonna be BIG :smoke:
As far as my rims - someone was asking. I don't think these are 767's. Heck, all I know these were made by Unique - cheap stuff, don't buy it. Spend some more money and get good ones. These will serve me good on trail only. I'm putting my RT/S's on stock rims and BFG M/T's on these, just for trail.

Attica Trip

Damn... it took me like 30 minutes to catch up on the posts. we just started page 2 when i last looked i think now at 4. well im not pissy but i sure did want to go and yup getting us married folks out the door sure isnt easy either especially with kids involved as well. my schedules are pretty sruratic so im not sure on those dates, best thing for me is pick a date and ill know a few days ahead of time. October 20 something im planing on trying to get to Hot Springs Arkansas for a 4wheel drive run out there. hopefully i can make that one, has some good mountains. ive been on a few mountain trails out in Hot Springs but not the ones that they have planned. well you guys just decide on a date and get ALOT of people going and ill see what i can pull. the room idea is great too. i was opting just for sleeping in my truck with no shower, but i might brush my teeth... ha ha just kidding... anyways hey Scott i got my bumper in today can't wait to install it but ill have to finish this remodeling of the house and stuff first.

Riff, you said something about their Wabash fest? According to the flier I have and the Badland's site, the fest is gonna take place from October 6-8. That's the date we picked. Can you double check? so far seams that 7-8 is good for most of the guys.

you better read my post again about the wabash fall fest. i suggested the weekend AFTER that.....this way there won't be as many people....thats the weekend that tom can make it too....does that work for you?

Matt, dave was the original planer for the website...so if he feels up to it, maybe he could build on it for the rest of the run.....(wink wink, nudge nudge)

As of now Oct. is a good month for me. I will know more when we get back from our 2 week tour of the forest fires out west. We are taking off for CCR2000 at about 6:00 tonight, I am so excited. The truck and trailer are loaded just gotta wait for the wife to get home from work. I plan on taking lots of pics and video, you can see them at Attica. Have a great labor day.

Whatever date you guys decide on is good for me. The only problem with me is I'll have to play it by ear untill that weekend. My schedual is really wierd right now. I'm trying to get into a co-op for school, doing a lot of school work, and then my girlfriend is high-maintenance. Whatever day you guys decide on I will try as hard as I can to make it...I really want to check out some other people's rigs. I'm sick of seeing soccer moms driving around in explorers. I wanna get out there and do some off roading. This will give me a chance to still my warrior shackles. Just keep me posted on the dates. Thanks.

Hey, I have now added to the agenda to check if I can go either of these weekends...My only gripe is that I may have to leave saturday night or really early sunday morning cause I've gotta catch the bus back to school...Anyways I'm gonna be checkin in with my schedual and my P's at home and see what they have to say....Since I had my last bit of suspension work, all I've had to go in were some local mud holes cause all the trails have finally be closed by the cops. Not to mention I've been at school for only 2 weeks and already miss drivin my baby....Not to mention I wanna go to some real trails and see what a moderately modified explorer can do...I can see if the boggers really are the ultimate off road tire...Anyways, I will keep in touch on this all...Talk to ya all later Pete

That was the idea I had...I think it may stay at home cause my dad's slowly repairing(free for me this way) and I think it will come out after Chrismas brecl, but who knows...Maybe earlier...How far are some good trails from here?
