Well I have to say I am glad I didn't do it at home in my quonset as we decided on the rivet removal method after looking at the limited space and not really wanting to take the front end apart. So the rivet heads were off in abt a minute each but getting the rivits out, well that was fun and eventually we drilled them and had to use an air hammer set on kill to remove the front one and the rear one well we pried the bracket off the rivet and removed the backet then ground it again as it had mushroomed in all the wrong ways. Then it punched out no problem. Interestingly after we got the bracket off the RA bushing did not look like it was causing the thumping in the floor I was experiencing but we changed it anyway also the bracket is pounded up pretty gooad and will have to be replaced this summer as I have to special order the bracket. We only changed the driver side as that is where the thumping was coming from and it was getting late ut the thump is gone so it appears the RA bushings don't have to be totally destroyed to make all kinds of racket and banging around. On another note we gave the old girls a once over and you sure would not believe this thing has 252,000 km on it. All the bushings look almost new and there is hardly any rust under the truck anywhere. The worst part of doing everything was the dirt and melting ice under it. It appears the only body work I need to do is replace the driver side fender as it is rotted out on the bottom edge but other than that not a spot of rust to be seen.
