ok.... the "t" = truck and "p" = passenger only.....and from the confirmed people it looks like were at 20 trucks!!! WOOO HOO!!! so we got at the very least 10% of the trucks there!! WE ROCK!
Rick is caravaning with us on Thursday to Attica. Well, actually to Lafayette. That is gonna be something to see you guys!! let's get as many trucks at that rest stop as possible.
Are any of you going to meet at someone's house (I.E. Dre's or Matt's...) before the rest stop and then caravan there? I don't want to be the only one that gets lost and ends up driving down by myself. Besides, it would look cool with a pack of Explorers all pulling into the rest stop together.
AH! The age of the Explorer has come! Time to reclaim our rightful spot in the mud!
Riff, when you get to Lafeyette you can either try to call my cell phone (don't know how good of a reception I will get in Indiana) at 815-751-1746. I can also leave a note with the front desk with another key and have you just pick it up. Whatever you want, or both.
Dre, when are you going to be leaving your house on thursday? I was wondering if it would be ok if I meet you there first and followed you to the rest stop. That way I would be sure to know where we are going and I am not that far away from you.
Those of you with the Digital Cameras, make sure you don't pack them away too well for the ride out. This would be an excelent opportunity for a photo shoot. Just imagine the line of Explorers. Would be great for any Explorer web site! What a beautiful site, 20 Explorers!
Scott Barrett--Incase yer wondering....I'm from Wheaton, which is off I-88...I dunno how ya plan to get to Dre's....But I may be easier to get to...and I know how to get there....I'm not sure how ya go to Dre's or what ya want to do...Just thought I'd tell ya...
Pete
Pete, that works. That way I won't have to backtrack any. Just e-mail or post your address, I can find out how to get there. I forgot that you were from Wheaton.
You guys said you drove through LaCrosse on your quest for the 5.0. Can you remember just about how long it was from LaCrosse to where we are meeting, also how idiotproof it this meeting spot. To me it's not a true roadtrip without a bunch of U-turns.
From my house in Round Lake Beach to Prairie is about four and a half hours. It should take you about five and a half from La Crosse to the meeting place. If you want, you could stop at my place on your way and we could cavavan down there. I may even be going to Matt's house and cavavaning from there with a bunch of Explorers. Just an idea.
hey Pete, I'll probably hook up with you guys before heading for the meeting place. I'm gonna e-mail Rick to see where he's staying for sure since for now it looks like he'll be at Glencoe. Group of guys then will meet at Matt's house and head down 94 to the spot and then on the other hand another group should meet at Pete's place in Wheaton and do the same. We shall all be there at around 6:30 - 7:00 PM. Let's push departure time to 7:30 PM since we all are gonna be trying to plow through the city during rush hour.
