I would like to ask anyone who has the Ford Racing/Powerdyne kit on their 5L Explorer/Mountaineer to take a few piks of it so I can see the unit mounted as a guide for instillation. The instructions are a bit crude.

Also, I am curious how many installed the FRU and inline pump.....There isn't much room to fit them...

TIA

Kurt

I've got few crappy pics on my site, sorry they aren't too detailed. YES, the instructions aren't even worthy of being toilet paper. I threw them away after about 10 mins. or reading. Since my fuel system is returnless, all I did was swap the intank pump for a mustang Walbro 255 LPH pump.

Was the Walbro pump a direct fit?

Yes it was. Cut and splice two wires then plug it up and attach it back to the harness. Took about 2 hours to drop the tank cuz I kept getting **** in my eyes even with safety glasses.

Did the new higher volume pump make any difference from the stock?

It helped the it shift quicker because once i was getting higher up in the revs I could tell it was hesitating to shift due to lack of fuel.

Could you take some piks of the SC in particular the mounting of it and the pullies? Where did you purchase the fuel pump from? (do you have a part number?)

I hope to do the install within a month or so, just finished installing the gauges.
Need to lengthen the alternator wiring..and a little bit more prep work.

Yep, the alt. wire is one thing that slowed me down. You'll need to lenghten it about a foot just to be safe. I don't have the part number for the pump, but it is for a '97 5.0 mustang. Look it up on ebay and you can pick one up for a little over a $100. I'll try to get some pics as soon as i can.

Thanks, would appreciate the piks.
Is there any adverse effects of the 255lph pump running all the time since the high flow that comes with the kit is only on under boost?

Thanks!

The pump only pumps a lot of fuel on demand, not constantly.
