I have aussie lockers front and rear of my daily driver.
The front has held up fine so far. The rear had issues and I had to replace it. I believe it was installed on the outer edge of the tolerances, causing it to slip a couple of times, wearing the teeth down. I still think they are good for the money...

How long have they been installed Brian?

Rear has been probably 10 months.
The front is a locker that I bought used, said to have lots of hard use on it. I've had it for 6 months or so, only wheeled with it a few times.
So I know that doesn't tell you a lot about longevity, but it is what it is ;)

Well that sounds pretty good to me. I'd be happy to get a year out of one for the price they sell 'em for. :)

Thanks for the info!

I've had mine since January 6th and have put at least 15,000 miles on them, no problems so far.

I've put about a year and a half (15-18Kish miles) on my USED lock-right (which works the same as an aussie), it was wheeled hard on 33s before I got it, they take a bit of getting used to but they are easy to drive when you learn how they work.

DD Aussie

I have had my Aussie in since February. At first it was really finicky, but after it was broken in its been great. I would recommend them to anyone that wants good off road capability while still reamaining streetable.

I installed my rear Aussie in July of last year. Other than the expected unwanted sideways action in the snow, it is fine on the street. For the first month or so after the install, there were some clunks and bangs, but once it was broken in it was fine.

The one thing I found though- you pretty much have to do the brown wire mod if you lock the rear. My transfer case kept engaging 4 wheel drive when cornering. Once I did the BWM all was smooth and good.

Good to know, I've already got the BWM installed, so it looks like I'm good to go. I'm just trying to decide if I want to get a locker or bigger tires first now. :)

I did the locker on mine before the Dick Cepeks. I was running very worn Goodyear RT/S's. Even with those tires the difference was unreal. Just something to consider.

Unles your tires are really small (under 31") or are bald, the locked rear will make it much more capable than that just new tires alone in most situations. A locker is regarded as the single best mod you can do for off-road performance overall.
