Auto headlights - windshield wipers question

Hey everybody. I have an '03 XLT 4-door with auto headlights.
Here in NC, by law, we have to burn headlights when using wipers. When I have my headlight switch set to auto, the headlights don't always come on while using my wipers (unless it is dark outside).

How do I wire up the wipers to automatically activate the auto headlights?
I just want to leave the switch in the auto position and forget about it.

Thanks

Hey, I hope that my question makes sense. I'll rephrase it a tad.

What I want to do is, run wire(s) so that any time that I run the wipers (at any speed or delay) they will activate the headlights and tail-lights while the headlight switch is in the AUTO position.

Thanks

That is a little/lot too complex for my wiring skills.
I think your stuck with what you have unless you could get a daylight running light kit that is turned on by the wiper switch wire under the hood. It wouldnt light your tail lights however.
Or put a piece of something, easily moved, to cover the light sensing eye for the auto headlamps. I think the sensor is on the back of the mirror. Just something to slide back & forth.
