Auto Hub problem or Transfer Case?

Well, I got the hub on the working side for $20. Even if it costs $40, that's cheaper then the 200+ the manuals would cost, plus I don't have to take anything apart on the axels. I don't have the tools to remove/install the the wheelbearing nuts (ie. torque wrench).
Brandons, the 3 teeth on the ring inside the hub are fine, like I said, it looks just like the working one.??? weird...
Thanks

Wierd. Well at least you know what parts problemed. I only use autohubs still since i got a parts explorer for $300ca with new hubs. If i were you id save up the money and get manuals by time winter starts.

Found a site that talks about rebuilding the hub portion of the auto hub assembly. And since that's my problem, I'm going to give it a try. The bearing that holds the 3 tooth assembly is too worn I think on my bad hub (too much play in it compared to the good one) thereby not letting it lock out properly. I'm going to try to replace just the bearing and this should hopefully fix the problem. It's a standard bearing and only a few dollars I belive. My question is how the hell to get off that little "C" clip that holds the assembly in the hub? Any ideas how to do it with regular tools?
Thanks!

I rebuilt my bad auto hub today, changed the bearing and put in a few washer spacers to bring it back to the original specs for the height of the 3 teeth that catch the cam assembly. Works like a charm again!! The cost....ZERO $$, used a spare bearing, got some old washers that fit the job! Took 'er out to a gravel road and man, what a difference it is having 4x4 engaged!! Can't wait till it rains and I hit a trail!

Problem is if you space it out to much it won't disengage...I thought about doing that but opted to go the sure-fire route of WARN
