all right i need to find a solution to my problem: i have the crap auto hubs and they wont engage to save their life. alls they do is click or pop. i have pulled them apart to figure out what the problem is and nothing seems wrong, nothing is stripped or outta place, i cleaned them and let them soak in cleaner for a coupla hours and reassembled them with wheel bearing grease, that didnt work and they would not disengage. i redid the hubs with atf fluid after that, they disengage fine but still pop and click in 4wd, i would like to know if there is anyhope for these hubs because i am a student and really cannnot afford manual hubs at this time

there is a cheap rebuild kit for them, its like $30 if i remember...... but the manuals are really the only way to go..... the autos were just a crappy design.....

I gave up on mine. I was always partial to manuals anyway. You can get the WARNS for $177 including the Spindle nut Kit that you need or you can get the MileMarker Hubs and Nut Kit for $166.

It hurts when you are on a tight budget. The Banging and Clicking isn't doing the rest of your driveTrain any good.

I have the Websites where you can buy them..Unfortunately they are on my Work computer. If you respond to this Thread again, I'll get them for you.

If U need to go 4 wheelin' they get some manuals. If you want to see why the Autos don't work, e-mail me & I'll send you pics of what is worn.

Instead of buying new Spindle Nuts and paying $36+ for them, These are the Same! This is what I bought. This Guy puts these Nuts up on E-bay about once a week.
Search; Dana 44 Spindle.

For WARN Hubs this seems to be the cheapest. http://4x4cyberstore.com/website/warn_hub_ford.html

For MileMarker Hubs : http://www.rubicon4x4.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/75_238_1835_1838/sort/5a/page/3

There was Free Shipping on The MileMarkers, not sure about the WARN's.

Just trying to help

Decent prices. I am still on Auto's. ORIGINAL auto's. Should really order a set

I retired my auto hubs last year because of the same problem. I replaced them with the milemarker manuals it was the best thing I could have done. Also I got mine dirt cheap I paid a grand total of $120 for the hubs and the spindle nut kit and it took me a whole wopping 30min to change both sides.
P.S. I bought the hubs at advance auto parts.

Advance auto carries mile markers? intresting
