- 2006 ford explorer xlt
i have a 2006 explorer xlt. give you bak ground in the last part of november the explorer had abs trac lights on and would kick in and out of 4 by 4. figured it was a bad wheel bearing since we knew one was going bad. changed out front drivers wheel bearing. took care of the abs problem but wasnt the wheel bearing that was bad (humming). few weeks went by and noticed that when turning (mainly right) it would make like a whining noise and trac light would sometimes come on and it would like jump. like it was trying to engage 4 wheel drive. i assumed it was the bad wheel bearing that wasnt replaced. so had the passenger rear wheel bearing changed (humming went away). but we still have the problem of when turning that it acts and sounds like it is kicking in and out of 4 wheel drive. does it mainly turning right but will do it sometimes turning left. every once in awhile the trac light will come on during this. mind you this is on dry pavement so its not due to snow or rain. it also feels like something is like dragging in the front. steering feels kinda tight. its hard to explain how it feels. any and all info and advice would be great.. thank you in advance
