Just checked the tranny fluid for the first time since I bought my 93.
It was about 2 inches over the full mark. I smelt it, and it smelt fine, not burnt or anything. I have been told not to change the fluid, since it could cause the tranny to fail.
Does anyone have any recommendations on getting the excess fluid out?

thanks,
Rick

Rick,

You should change your fluid, the biggest killer of AT's is dirty fluid. Change the filter too, it is cheap insurnace. If you have the pan off install a after market drain plug to make changing easier next time. You can never get all the fluid out because 8 quarts stay in the convertor, unless you undo the lines up front and run the truck to pump out the convertor, but risky because you do not want to run the pump dry.
Anyway good luck,

Don
