Auto transmission not shifting into drive, 1st or 2nd. Still have reverse

So I've got a 99 Explorer with an auto trans. It recently decided that it didn't want to shift into drive anymore.

I tried disconnecting that shift cable from the transmission and shifting it into directly on the transmission but it still wont engage. Being in OD or not doesn't seem to help at all.

Any ideas on what to check first amigos? Any sensors or bushings that commonly go bad?

I checked the gold torx cable bracket bolts too, but I think its something past the shifter lever on the transmission.

Any ideas?
