Just to clarify. Your autolocking hubs are not unlocking after being in 4x4?

yeah turn the button of light goes out back it up but still feel the drag of the front wheels being locked in then can sometimes hear the d-shaft turning..

I really dont know but here is some info from my Haynes.

Defective circut and or range switch on the t-case.

Insufficent or incorrect grade of lubricant.

Worn or damaged internal components. (T-Case)

Also have you ever rebuilt your shift motor?
Pull off the front tires and inspect your hubs.

yeah it sat for 5 years shift motor wouldn't engage so I changed the shift off the parts explorer (which I drove 2 days before pulling the motor) I'm going to pull the auto lockout off this weekend and check them out...they have been on there since 93

took them off soaked them in gas and diesel then a cup of tranny fluid reinstalled and they work no drag..

Glad to see you got them working
