This should be quick and simple, but Ford's documentation is leaving me lost and frustrated.

Back story: I was poking around behind the glove box in my wife's 2001 Eddie Bauer, which has to electronic automatic climate control, and found a loose hose. One end was connected to the little vent on the passenger side dash, i.e., the cabin air sensor intake. The other end, with the fairly large black elbow and clip were...dangling. I wasn't in the best position to do a lot of reaching around, but I never found where it plugged in, which I believe would be into the actual sensor. I even took the radio out and looked around, but no joy.

My question is: Where is the cabin air sensor??? Or, at any rate, the place the hose attaches. And what's the best way to get to it to plug the hose back in?

Thanks!

I don't know but am bumping the topic to the top by asking if maybe it's in the dash head unit?

Ah! I found it! After dropping the glove box and getting my head where I could see better, I found that the hose plugs in on top of the heater core case. The actual sensor is right behind the grill in the dashboard. Getting the hose plugged back in was a small challenge, and I can see why whoever undid it left the hose dangling. We have reliable heat for the first time since we acquired out Explorer now.
