Ok, I just started my manual hubs. If you knew what you were doing this would take like 30 minutes! Anyway, With my manual hubs, my bearing socket I got is for just the manuals I guess. So I need someone to try to help me, either how can I get these things off without an automatic hubs bearing socket, or where can I buy a socket thanks.

go to napa. I know what you mean the one to take off the autos and a different on for the manuals. They are like 20 bucks each or so. I use my socket for the manual hubs all of the time. I keep it in my 4x4ing tool box. When I did mine it was like 5:30 on a sunday afertnoon I had to go to napa 2 times. I didn't realize that I needed two different ones. Thank god napa is open late

Well I just went to autozone. I got what I thought was the right one, its ends up to be the full size truck and bronco one. This thing is hard to find!

i went to napa and they got me the wrong one. if you go to the tips page it says to use a chisel and just whack the sucker at an angle and it will come right off. this worked for me

I have been to 7 auto stores today, and NONE had the autohub tool. I found the autohub tool for the full size autohub like on big broncos and old f-150's and stuff. Does anyone know ANYWHERE I can get the auto hub tool???? I can't seem to pry the thing off, someone help me get these things off!!!!!! If I try to chisel it from underneath, wont that strip the axle thread too?

Hey - stupid me. the thing was loose the whole time!! God helped me on that one I think. Anyway, how can I figure out if the manuals are working. When I put it in free, when you turn it to free it clicks, and when its in locked it feels a little lose on, but I tried it locked and unlocked in 4x4 and 2x4 all those worked. How can I tell if the front tires are actually spinning? Or if my manual hubs weren't working, would the car just not move in 4x4 or what, thanks guys!

just lock em in and the lay under and try turning the front driveline if it turns they are not in but most likely they will work

I will try that tomorrow morning. That was a whole lot less complicated than i thought it would be! I will try to spin the wheel in the morning. thanks
